Manchester City latest: England midfielder signs for City; Arsenal linked with Dzeko

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Having already been linked with both Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund this week, Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is now a reported target for Arsenal, too.

The Bosnian has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad, despite starting the season as Manuel Pellegrini’s first-choice front-man. And given the partnership developing between Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo, it appears the best Dzeko can hope for is a bit-part should he remain at the Blues beyond January.

The Express has breathed new life into a previous rumour linking the former Wolfsburg man with a switch to the Emirates, with Wenger seeking reinforcements for a front-line that has been one-man-strong for much of the season to date – that man being Olivier Giroud.

In other news, Jesus Navas has confirmed he is happy following his summer switch from Sevilla.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News the Spaniard said, “I am very pleased with the Premier League rhythm. The games are very direct and the league is very competitive.

I feel an important player for City and I am happy.”

And finally, Manchester City Ladies have made a new signing today, with England international Jill Scott moving from Everton to the Blues.

In quotes published by Sky Sports, she said, “What attracted me most is the whole professionalism of the club…and the facilities. I feel like the club have a plan to make themselves one of the best teams in the league eventually.”

With over 70 caps for England, Scott’s arrival will be a huge boost for the side in their first season in the FA Women’s Super League.
