In team news, United stars Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, and Tom Cleverley are in action with England this evening against Chile in the Three Lions international friendly.

In transfer new, Carlisle United have signed Ben Amos on loan from United. The 23-year-old goalkeeper will remain at Brunton Park on a month-long deal to cover for injured first-choice keeper Mark Gillespie.

The Daily Mail claims United will ‘fail’ to sign target Marco Reus as reports claim he will turn down United and Manchester City to sign for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, United goalkeeper David De Gea remains ‘coy’ on a move to Barcelona that has been rumoured in The Express, who report that he failed to ‘rule out’ returning to La Liga in the future.

"Would I sign for the club? You never know," he told reporters in response to questions over his future.

Elsewhere, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has revealed why he left United.

“I can say there is no place like home,” explained the Spaniard citing family and friends as the main reason for his return to Spain.

"I spent four years away, but here I have family and close friends every day."

In other news, United fan Liam Rowley has been banned from stadiums for five years for punching a Liverpool supporter outside Old Trafford in September following United’s 1-0 defeat.
