Eto'o neglected by Cameroon teammates, former Chelsea man could join London rivals

A round up of the key news stories about Chelsea this morning.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has said his reputation doesn’t guarantee him an England place for the World Cup next summer.

Lampard will captain his country this evening against Chile in the absence of Steven Gerrard.

“We’re all in the same boat. What we’ve done up until now carries a bit of weight, some more than others, but if your form isn’t good enough in the next six or seven months until May – well, we all have to be on top form. I don’t think it should be any other way,” said Lampard.

Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has accused his Cameroon teammates of neglecting him against Tunisia.

Cameroon drew 0-0 as they attempt to qualify for the World Cup next summer and Eto’o has implied he was deliberately ignored throughout the game.

“My teammates decided not to pass me the ball. That is why, having heard this information before, I decided to move into midfield to take control of myself in the first leg against Tunisia,” said Eto’o.

Former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou could shortly find himself on the way to Arsenal.

Chelsea’s London rivals are thought to be keen on the forward who is currently playing his football in Ligue One with Lille.

Kalou is thought to be keen on returning to English football and reports suggest a fee of around £2.5 million.
