Manchester United icon discussed his worst error in a magazine interview.
Ahead of his World Cup playoff with Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo sat down for an interview with ShortList magazine.
The Ballon d'Or hopeful was asked all kinds of questions, including what were his biggest mistakes.
Being the vain individual he is, the answer of course came in relation to his hairstyle, but an iconic one Manchester United fans will remember.
"I see pictures of myself when I was 16 or 17 and I say, 'What did I do?' because of the cut of my hair, or the colour. When I was in Manchester I had the 'spaghetti' hair - long with yellow tips. What was I doing?"
He's right of course, those wisps of golden yellow streaks stood right out, and not for good reasons.
It was fortunate for the youngster, who sported the haircut on his debut at Old Trafford against Bolton, that his footwork was so good he was able to divert the attention away from the horror haircut.
It should be noted that once he stopped messing around with ridiculous hairstyles, he began to become a prolific scorer on the pitch, and find the end product to go with his trickery.
A coincidence or a demonstration the focus was on his football and nothing else? We'd go with the latter.
Here's a photo we saw posted on Twitter several months ago, with a message which summed it up perfectly...

Let's face it, Ronaldo does not have many mistakes on the pitch to be ashamed of, if any - mainly thanks to John Terry and Nicolas Anelka sparing his penalty miss in Moscow in 2008.
