Confirmed Germany v Italy line-ups: Arsenal playmaker on the bench

Confirmed line-ups - Joachim Low’s 100th game as Germany supremo is against long-term bogey side Italy.

Italy: Buffon - Abate - Barzagli - Bonucci - Criscito - Pirlo - Motta - Montolivo - Balotelli - Osvaldo

Germany: Neuer - Howedes - Boateng - Hummels, Jansen - Khedira - Lahm - Schurrle - Kroos - Muller - Gotze

Germany will be hoping to put on a good show as a sign of appreciation to Joachim Low, who takes charge of his 100th for the German national side.

Both Italy and Germany qualified comfortably for the World Cup in Brazil, having lost NONE of their 10 qualifying games in their respective groups. The Germans record is a little more impressive after only dropping 2 points from the maximum total, whereas Italy dropped 8.

Germany will be looking to put to bed a long-term ‘hex’ over the Italians having being dumped out of both Euro 2012 and the 2006 World Cup to them, as well as that, Italy can boast that they have NEVER lost to Germany in any major tournament.
