A round up of key news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.
Tottenham Hotspur have first option on a loan deal for forward Clint Dempsey.
Dempsey left the club to go and play for the Seattle Sounders in the MLS but he’s being linked with a loan move to Europe to maintain his fitness and the Mirror reports Spurs have first refusal.
“Clint's contract allows him to go on loan for the off-season. All parties are working on a deal and we won't be surprised if it happens,” said Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer.
Tottenham striker Jerman Defoe has said he will not ask to leave the club.
Defoe hasn’t been a regular in the first team this season, which has seen him linked with transfers away from White Hart Lane.
“But I have never once said I wanted to leave this football club. Even when I left the first time, I didn’t say I wanted to leave the club. All I will say is that I want to play,” he told the Express.
Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has been ruled out of England’s match against Chile tomorrow night.
Walker has been training in the gym to maintain his fitness and could feature in next week’s game against Germany.
England have been hit by a string of injuries to key players, which will see Roy Hodgson name an experimental side for both matches.
