Suarez makes Liverpool's top three players despite playing nearly half as many games as England men.
Liverpool are riding high in second place just two points behind league leaders Arsenal. An ability to beat the mid-table teams that they have had problems with over the last two years means that they are definite top four contenders, but if they want to challenge for the title it is likely they will have to beat their rivals as well more often than they get beaten.

Top 3 players so far – Liverpool
1. Daniel Sturridge
The top English striker around right now, was on fire earlier in the season, though it appears Suarez has seized top billing somewhat in the last few weeks. Will have ambitions on starting for England in Brazil next summer, something that should keep his form firing all year.

2. Steven Gerrard
As Gerrard moves towards his twilight years, Liverpool fans are faced with the prospect of a midfield without one of their greatest ever players. Unable to make those gut-busting breaks to join the attack with the same frequency he did in his pomp, the Liverpool captain orchestrates play and lets younger legs take on some of the legwork.

3. Luis Suárez
If Sturridge is one of the form strikers in the England squad, Suarez is one of the form strikers in world football. It took the Uruguayan barely a game after his 8-match-ban to settle back into devastating opponent defences. Very likely to challenge for Player of the Year at this rate.
