PICTURE: What's Anton Ferdinand been up to in Turkey?

Former West Ham United and Sunderland star Anton Ferdinand finds himself in the Turkish Premier League playing for Antalyaspor.

Former Hammers and Black Cats star Anton Ferdinand has a lot of spare time on his hands.

Unable to get into the Antalyaspor first team on a regular basis, he’s spending his hours playing a video game connected to something which most of us can relate to with our own childhoods; Lego.

Ferdinand hasn’t exactly been having a blinder of a season in Turkey, making just five appearances across all competitions for his current side, who find themselves mid-table after ten games, 14 points off of league leaders Fenerbahce.

However, on a more serious note, it’s a great chance for him to work hard over the rest of the season, settling down and trying to force his way back onto the fringes of the English national team.

An offer fell in his lap to move to Turkey last summer and he took it signing a three-year deal as he’s not getting any younger at the ripe old age of 28-years-old.

It’s difficult for centre backs to force their way into established partnerships at the heart of a defence and that seems to be Ferdinand’s problem because according to transfermarkt, he’s not had an injury this season.

It will be fascinating to see if Ferdinand can force his way into the side on a more regular basis, which will increase his chances of returning to England if that’s the route he wants to take in the future.
