A round up of key news stories this morning about Chelsea.
An online source has claimed that Chelsea will offer up to €71 million to sign Falcao from Monaco.
Chelsea remain linked with the striker despite the fact he only moved to the Ligue One side last summer.
The fee appears to have come from an original report in the Daily Mirror but it will be interesting to see if the Blues are willing to go to such lengths to sign a striker this winter or next summer.
Chelsea are planning to extend the contract of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The young Belgian has been playing on loan at Atletico Madrid in Spain and is seen as the long term successor to Petr Cech.
Marca has reported that Chelsea are looking to extend his current deal by two years, most likely to fend off interest in him this summer.
Cesar Azpilicueta says he’s looking to keep Ashley Cole out of the side for the rest of the season.
The Spanish defender has recently filled in at left-back for the Blues, doing a great job on the opposite side to where he normally plays.
“Every time I have more minutes I feel better. Provided I can play and be useful to the team I’d be delighted to stay on the left for the whole season,” said Azpilicueta.
