Manchester City latest: Blues scoop another prize and two clubs linked with City striker

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Yaya Toure has dismissed claims that he is seeking to leave Manchester City.

In quotes published by Sky Sports, the Ivorian midfielder responded to claims from former City player Rodney Marsh in an interview with Talk Sport.

People close to Manchester City tell me Yaya Toure is not very happy and he is one of their great players,” Marsh said.

When you start to hear rumblings from within the camp, and you see the way Toure played last weekend, when he was strolling around and didn’t look interested, I’m wondering now if it will all go a little bit the other way.”

But the midfielder has since responded, tweeting that he is happy at the Etihad and people should pay no attention to the rumours suggesting otherwise.

In other news, Edin Dzeko is apparently a wanted man, with both Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund linked with the Bosnian striker in recent hours.

The Mirror picks up on reports from Italy that Dzeko is being targeted by Inter as a January recruit, while the Express claims Dortmund see him as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Robert Lewandowski.

Either way, given his lack of game-time and the partnership developing between Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo, it appears Dzeko’s time in Manchester is nearing its end should he wish to be a first-team regular.

And finally, the Manchester Evening News reports that the Blues have won the Best Football Club Hospitality Award.

While it may not have quite the same standing in the game as the Champions League, a trophy is a trophy.
