A couple of stories surrounding Spurs during the international break…
It is quiet during the international break but that doesn’t stop there being one of two transfer rumours and the Daily Star is reporting that Spurs are in the running to buy Ukrainian international Yevhen Konoplyanka.
The 24-year-old winger is believed to command a fee of around £15m with Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all believed to be interested. The interest isn’t just from the Premier League either as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and PSG are also reported to be interested.
Konoplyanka’s agent is quoted as saying: ‘He can do things on a football pitch that very few players can come to, so we are expecting an interesting January.’
Argentine Erik Lamela has stressed the need for him to get to grips with the language as he is starting to settle into life at Spurs. The Argentine scored his first goal for the club last week against FC Sheriff in the Europa League and has told Spurs TV: ‘I think it’s essential to be able to communicate in English.
‘It’s essential to be able to talk to my teammates and for my personal life. It’s important that I learn the language.’
