Belgian's early season form keeps him as top Villan despite recent struggles.
Though they haven't quite continued the end of season form that saw them stay up late on last year, Villa have performed pretty well, with a home victory over Man City the stand-out result. That they have been getting points without a fit Christian Benteke shows they are more than just the one man team of last season. Despite this, the big Belgian is still their highest rated player.

Top 3 players so far – Aston Villa
1. Christian Benteke
Having reneged on a pre-season transfer request, Benteke won the Villa fans' hearts again with a two goal opening day salvo over Arsenal. Niggling injuries interrupted his first couple of months, but it won't be long till Benteke is back terrorising defences once again.

El Ahmadi has seemingly won a regular starting spot in the Villa midfield after a series of strong displays. The Moroccan is much improved on last year, and his equaliser against Manchester City showed he could be a threat going forward to.

3. Antonio Luna
The Spaniard was picked up for a bargain fee to fill Villa's problem left-back position, and at 22-years-old, and with Spanish youth caps to his name, it is looking like outstanding business. ''Tony Moon's'' runs down the left have been a feature of Villa's attacking play and he has linked up well with Gabriel Agbonlahor.
