Plastered on the front cover as the main feature is a picture and interview with Everton left-back Leighton Baines.
Baines is a player that Moyes actively tried to sign for Manchester United over the summer as he seeks a long term replacement for current United left-back Patrice Evra. Moyes tried to do a double deal for Marouane Fellaini and Baines, eventually only managing to sign the Belgian midfielder on the final day of the transfer window.
Reports as recent as last month suggested he would have another go at launching a £15 million bid to sign Baines this winter.
The main point of this Baines interview seems to be to discuss all things Everton, with a bit of England and some general interest thrown in, which would be pointless if the 28-year-old was thinking of jumping ship as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Current Everton boss Roberto Martinez has been very shrewd and persistent over the way he has talked about a new deal for Baines, refusing to comment on the matter most likely because he doesn’t see Baines refusing a renewal as an issue.
He will be offered a deal at some point because Everton would be naïve not to try and tie him down for the rest of his career but an exit to Old Trafford doesn’t seem imminent and it could well be after the World Cup until United start throwing big money at trying to get him again.
