A round up key news stories about Chelsea this morning.
Several reports have suggested Arsenal will make a £15 million bid for Chelsea forward Demba Ba.
Ba almost joined the Gunners at the back end of the last transfer window, with Jose Mourinho refusing to let the striker move to the North London side on loan as they were a direct rival.
The obstacle stopping a January move for Ba is the fact that the Blues are unlikely to let him leave unless they get a replacement in themselves.
That replacement could come in the form of AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.
Falcao is rated as one of the best forwards currently playing European football and the Blues could make a bid for him this January or next summer.
However, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has cast doubt over a move, suggesting it would be nonsense for his side to let Falcao leave so shortly after joining from Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will be honoured with a ceremony this Friday before England’s game against Chile.
The Blues icon will make his 100th cap when he plays under Roy Hodgson and he is expected to captain his country to mark the occasion.
Lampard is the natural option to step in as captain with fitness doubts over Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard.
