Midfielder has discussed his Spurs career so far with his nation's press.
Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been talking about his adjustment to life as a player at the club.
The Danish international was speaking to his country's reporters ahead of the friendly against Norway on Friday and explained his feelings with how things are going at White Hart Lane.
He played just behind striker Roberto Soldado in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, further forward than usual, and admitted it was a role he wasn't expecting to play.
"It was new and a surprise. I did not expect to play there but I tried to seize the opportunity," he said.
"We have many players, so it's just up to the coach who he thinks is doing well."
Eriksen made nine chances in the game but his side couldn't find a way past the inspired Magpies goalkeeper Tim Krul.
And the former Ajax man explained that the Europa League has given him the outlet to press his claims for more Premier League starts.
"We play so many games so half of the team who have played at the weekend do not train fully. When there are so many good players and so many matches, you can switch things around."
