Two MOTM performances and 3 goals in 2 days: Bony on top form

Wilfried Bony has been in fine form recently and the fans reacted to his recent performance at Stoke

The Ivory Coast international with an extra-ordinary talent for hitting the back of the net has sent the Swansea City fans into over-drive this weekend, with his two man of the match performances and three goals.

Wilfried Bony has been sparsely used this season to the confusion of the Swansea City faithful, and has had to make do with making his reputation largely in the Europa League, where he has bagged 5 goals in 7 games so far for the Premier League side.

The Premier League has been another story, despite appearing in 10 games this season, only 5 have been from the start. He has still managed to hit the back of the net on 4 occasions and his recent brace against Stoke being best of the bunch. This week could be the game-changer for him.

The game Thursday was a tough one for Swansea as they had to keep up their performances in Europe, knowing they had a tough Premier League match not 2 days later!

Wilfried Bony scored the opening goal in Russia in the 9th minute and went on to win MOTM before being brought off in the 71st minute to conserve his energy for the match against Stoke on Saturday. When he left the field things turned sour for the Welsh club as former Atletico Madrid striker Ibrahima Balde scored a last minute equaliser for the Russian side.

Stoke took advantage of a clearly tired Swansea side and were 2-0 up within the first 30 minutes, leaving a jetlagged Swansea side against the ropes. Fortunately for the Swansea, Wilfried Bony found a second wind and along with Dyer put the side 3-2 before conceding a frustrating last minute penalty that Charlie Adam put away.

The performance by Bony clearly hadn't gone unnoticed and after the game, fans on twitter were purring over his performances...

Whilst Michu is out injured, the Ivory Coast international is fantastic cover and as long as he gets games then he will always get goals, it's what he is made for - and he is a player to keep a very close eye on over the next couple of months.
