A round up of key news stories this morning about Chelsea.
Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
Former Blues boss Rafa Benitez is thought to be keen on the defender who has proven his versatility for Chelsea in recent matches.
The Daily star rumours that the fee would be substantially larger than the £7 million Chelsea paid to sign the Spaniard from French club Marseille.
Jose Mourinho is adamant that experienced defender Ashley Cole will force his way back into the first team.
Cole has been left on the bench in recent matches with Azpilicueta filling in for him at left-back.
“Ashley is a top professional, he is a fighter. He has to work hard, to fight hard because the place (in the team) is his place - it is not a position where Ashley can think that he is in trouble now,” said Mourinho.
A potential fee has emerged for FC Schalke star Max Meyer.
The teenager has been linked with Chelsea over the past week, as Mourinho appears keen to add him to the current first team squad.
The Metro has reported that the Blues are willing to make an initial offer of around €14 million to see if that’s enough to take the teenager away from his German employers.
