AVB on 'unlucky' Spurs, Tottenham star hints at move home to Brazil

A round up of key news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has called yesterday’s defeat to Newcastle United unfair.

Spurs went down 1-0 at home to Newcastle thanks to a Loic Remy goal in the first-half of the game.

“We gave the first half advantage to Newcastle, although I think we were very unlucky during all of the game. We had so many good, good chances that I think the result is very unfair,” AVB told Sky Sports.

Tottenham goalkeeper Huerelho Gomes is being linked with a summer move back home to Brazil.

Gomes is currently the third choice goalkeeper at White Hart Lane, with no immediate prospect of regular football.

“I need to start playing again. I don’t want to make a hasty decision but I’m more open now to Brazil as I have been playing in Europe for 10 years,” he said.

AVB has also eased any long term worries over goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman was not in the match day squad yesterday but the boss expects him to be expect for the upcoming international break.

“The medical department felt it was a bit too soon probably. If the game was one day later he would've played and I expect Hugo to play for France this week,” said the Spurs manager.
