VIDEO: Inter-owned 'keeper's howler against Inter

Inter Milan

Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi on loan from Inter gifted the Nerazzurri their opener last night with an embarrassing howler.

Highly rated young goalkeeper Francesco Bardi made an uncharacteristic blooper while playing for Livorno against the team that own him, Inter.

The Italian Under-21 international dived to cut out a cross but under very little pressure only succeeded in turning it into his own net.

The goal gave Inter a crucial 1-0 lead against Livorno at San Siro in a game they would go on to win 2-0.

Livorno boss Davide Nicola consoled his custodian after the game, stressing his faith in Bardi despite his evening to forget.

"Bardi has great character," he told Sky Sport "I don't think he will beat himself up about the mistake and you can't judge his development on the basis of that error.

"He's a brave 'keeper and usually when you dive out to cut the ball out like that it stays in your gloves and is a good interception."

Nonetheless Bardi hasn't helped his case for a return to Inter although his contribution to their three points must be appreciated by boss Walter Mazzarri.
