Chelsea star frozen out as Forest win at Leicester

Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah was left as an unused sub for the second game in a row, with rumours circulating he could return to Stamford Bridge.

Nottingham Forest won in impressive fashion to second in the league Leicester City yesterday, but questions were asked over the 18-year-old Chelsea player being left on the bench.

Nathaniel Chalobah considered quite a coup when signed for the East Midlands side has found his time at the club quite difficult, some fans have questioned his ability and don’t see the point in paying the exceptional fee’s for the young player to stay on at the club. The situation is a stark contrast from his time at Watford, where he spent last season becoming a major part of their play-off final losing side, and built his reputation as one of the best young players in the country.

Billy Davies substituted the young midfielder minutes after his first goal for the club at half time during their embarrassing 3-1 loss to bottom side (at the time) Yeovil Town, since then he hasn’t played a minute of football and the Chelsea hierarchy are reportedly unhappy with the players treatment and want him to return imminently from his loan spell. The rumours started around the same time he was left out of the 1-0 home loss to Blackpool last week, the recently exclusion from the first team will only add fuel to the fire of his return.

The talented midfielder is clearly blessed with a special ability for the game, and with the right training and up bringing he will become a fine player for both club, and country.

I think the inexperienced Chelsea man should use this experience to make himself hungrier for a first team place, rather than a reason to run back to his parent club. He has proven that with a run of games and a bit of belief he can be a top championship player, he proved this at 17, but he hasn’t proven how he responds to a challenge. Now, he has a fantastic chance out oust the experienced players above him in the first team picture and get his face back in the starting 11.

I understand the scepticism from Chelsea about the current situation, but pull the plug too early and you’ll perhaps never find out what the kid is made of!
