Manchester United striker: 'My future is far from here', could leave this week

Manchester United's Federico Macheda admits he has given up on a career at the club.

Federico Macheda has reinforced that he is looking for a move from the club in January.

In an interview with Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb, he says he also expects to seal a loan deal until then this week.

"My future is far from here.

"This week I should go on loan somewhere, I want to find continuity, to do well, to show off. And then let's see ... in January."

Macheda has not played for the club since a very brief substitute appearance in the Champions League in late 2012 against Galatasaray.

The former boy wonder is now 22, and has spent time on loan in recent seasons at Sampdoria, QPR and Stuttgart.

He went on loan to Doncaster Rovers earlier this season and scored twice on his debut, but returned to Old Trafford after picking up an injury, and last week the club confirmed they would consider bringing him back.
