Manchester City's away woes continued as they lost 1-0 to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this afternoon.
Phil Bardsley's low shot midway through the first half was the only goal of the game, with Gus Poyet's men holding firm in the face of City pressure.
Former Manchester United player Wes Brown excelled against his former nemeses, while goalkeeper Vito Mannone stood up to City's formerly free-scoring front-line.
Sergio Aguero had chances to equalise but in the end it was Bardsley who was the unlikely hero.
The result means City are seventh in the Premier League, while Sunderland are now just three points clear of safety.
