Confirmed - Manchester United v Arsenal line-ups - Carrick returns, double blow for Gunners

Manchester United will be looking to climb the table as Arsenal look to extend their lead, kick-off from Old Trafford at 16:10 GMT.

Manchester United starting team: De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Jones, Carrick, Kagawa, Rooney, van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Giggs, Chicharito, Nani, Cleverley, Fellaini, Januzaj

Arsenal starting team: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Flamini, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud

Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Monreal, Hayden, Gnabry, Wilshere, Bendtner

Manchester United have suffered some bad defeats this season but they should be able to raise themselves for the challenge of playing the league leaders at home.

Chelsea, West Brom and Southampton have all left Old Trafford this season with points but United have turned things around and improved defensively since that home defeat to the Baggies.

The Gunners just keep going from strength to strength and they should relish the chance to create a gap of 11 points between themselves and the current Premier League champions.

Arsene Wenger’s men will be full of confidence following that win away at Borussia Dortmund last week, which showcased perfectly how Arsenal can see off and beat the bigger sides in Europe.

Both David Moyes and Wenger had selection issues leading up to this game but both bosses have been able to name strong teams and it should be a fantastic match.
