Julian Draxler and Kevin-Prince Boateng starred as Schalke reacted well to last week’s defeat at the hands of Chelsea.
Youngster Julian Draxler was the star player from the match as he weighed in with two assists during the victory, with former Spurs man Kevin-Prince Boateng grabbing an impressive brace.
It’s easy to see why so many teams are interested in investing heavily in Draxler because when he’s allowed the time to play with a free role around the pitch, he can tear apart sides that don’t have much discipline.
There were some suggestions that KPB would be heading back to the Premier League last summer but he opted to move to Germany from AC Milan in order to be closer to his family.
He’s a player who has been plagued by injury problems throughout his career and he repaid Schalke for the faith they have showed in him with a couple of decent goals which gave the side a cushion they never gave up.
If Draxler can keep up this sort of performance then his stock is only going to rise while any side that was interested in KPB over the summer is probably cursing their luck that they didn’t take a gamble on him.
