Valencia midfielder Ever Banega could be set for a move away from the Mestalla after losing his first team spot under new manager Miroslav Djukic.
And he could end up at one of England's top clubs.
Having become an important player for Los Che over the last few years, as well as a regular in the Argentinian national team, Banega's agent has been talking up a possible move in the January transfer window as the 25-year-old seeks to cement his spot ahead of the World Cup.
“I can only tell you that we are already talking with several clubs in relation to the next window," the player's representative said.
“In the next few days I will be travelling to present all the options to Valencia.”
Both United and Arsenal were very much in the market for midfielders in the last transfer window, and are reported to retain an interest in adding someone of Banega's calibre to their team in the winter window.
Mauricio Pochettinho is thought to be a huge admirer of his countryman, and has shown a knack for bringing in quality players to a Southampton side very much in the running for a place in Europe this season.
As the quotes indicate, Napoli are also in the frame, alongside Inter Milan, two teams with strong Argentinian links both in the past and at present.
