In the summer many teams were alerted by the apparent availability of Barcelona winger Cristian Tello - and with one very good reason.
Not only is he obviously a very talented and pacy winger with the necessary attributes to be a star in the Premier League - but he also had a miniscule price-tag on his head for such a talent.
The Spanish international, in a similar fashion to Thiago Alcantara, had a release clause activated in his Barcelona deal by not featuring in enough games for the club last season - that release clause could see him leave if a club made a bid of £8.7 million.
But they were not in luck, as Tello loves playing for Barca, even if it is usually as a substitute. After a delay caused by the untimely resignation of Tito Villanova he eventually signed on the dotted line of a brand new contract with Barca - taking his release clause up to £21 million.
Now that fee is steep for the lad - although not according to Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
"In this game, we saw Messi's character; he is working so good and knows that he has our confidence. Messi is the best of the world but, for me, Tello is even better than Cristiano, any FC Barcelona player is better for me."
Quite an extraordinary claim, and certainly rather tongue in cheek than serious we are sure.
Tello actually has many similar attributes to Ronaldo. Tall, physically powerful and lightning quick - a comparison could be made.
If Tello ever played a game that is.
He has featured in just 208 minutes of La Liga football this season; by comparison Ronaldo has played 1080 - scoring 13 goals in 12 games during the process.
Perhaps Zubizarreta is a little bit too biased toward his own team?
