Reported Gunners transfer target Khouma Babacar has admitted that he is flattered by links with the Emirates Stadium outfit.
As the January transfer window looms ever closer, Arsenal are a side that are believed to be ready to spend money in the new year.
The Premier League leaders have been linked to plethora of strikers, as Olivier Giroud is in need of a back-up that has the faith of Arsene Wenger and the club’s fans.
With Nicklas Bendtner failing to inspire and Yaya Sanogo injured, the Gunners are thought to be ready to bring a new centre forward to the club.
The latest man to be linked with a switch to north London is Khouma Babacar, who is on loan from Fiorentina at Serie B side Modena.
West Ham have also been accredited with an interest in the Senegalese goal machine, and the player has been vocal on his opinion of both London sides.
"It is very encouraging when you are linked with clubs such as Arsenal, they are one of the best teams in the world and they do great things with young players,” the African striker told Sky Sports.
"The manager there has such a good reputation to develop talent, but I am under contract with Fiorentina so they will have to decide if I have to go to England.
"I heard about West Ham through my agent, but they have not made anything official yet."
The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Fiorentina, but has spent time on loan at Racing Santander and Padova in the past.
However, it is only this season that the sprightly striker has started to catch the eye, and he has seemingly found his shooting boots also.
Babacar is the Serie B joint top scorer currently, and has netted eight times in the Italian second tier to date.
Whether the Florence based side are willing to sell the player remains to be seen, however the in-form forward has been given a £5 million price tag in the Italian media.
