First Arsenal, now problem pigeons troubling Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund

A frustrating week for Borussia Dortmund...

It is not just Arsenal who have caused problems for Borussia Dortmund this week.

The German title-chasers have been forced to spend on a new type of defence, which they hope will not be breached in the same way Aaron Ramsey got past their backline on Wednesday.

Local website derwesten.de report that a pigeon problem has been infesting the Westfalenstadion, and the birds dumping their 'business' over the fans.

"We have a strong infestation of pigeon droppings", André Neuhaus the club's facilities manager said.

Dortmund are now putting money towards rectifying the issue, buying 20 pyramid shaped mirrors to attach to the stadium's high points. Neuhaus adds: "These are pyramid-shaped mirrors that reflect light, so they simulate the presence of a bird of prey."

For fans who have spent the week seeing their side lose to Arsenal, and getting dumped on by pigeons, they can at least console themselves that it can't get worse, can it?
