Barcelona 'offered Celtic star' - report

Barcelona are said to have been offered goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Spanish newspaper Marca is claiming that Barcelona have been offered the chance to sign Fraser Forster from Celtic.

Barcelona know all about the Englishman's qualities, having faced him in the Champions League in successive seasons, impressing on each occasion.

The paper report that Barcelona were offered the chances to sign him in the summer, with Victor Valdes planning to leave on a free transfer, Monaco his likely destination.

"The name of a possible candidate has been offered to Barcelona from Scotland: Fraser Forster, the Celtic keeper.

"However, Barça is not interested, given that it is currently on the trail of two different keepers to fill the spot – one of them being the German Ter Stegen. Forster is on the radar of several Spanish clubs and may well end up playing football in La Liga next season."

Forster, 25, was named in Roy Hodgson's England squad earlier on Thursday. The 25-year-old has a contract at Celtic until 2016.
