VIDEO: Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper's howler goes viral across Europe

Almunia

News of the Watford goalkeeper's gaffe is spreading across the continent.

In case you missed it, Manuel Almunia made quite the howler at the weekend.

The Watford stopper goalkeeper, formerly of Arsenal, played an awkward part in the Hornets' 0-3 Championship home loss to Leicester City.

Under seemingly little pressure in the 10th minute, the Spaniard hit a kick upfield directly, only for it to hit opposition striker Kris Wood square in the face.

Almunia's gaffe has been doing the rounds and has been appearing on the internet around Europe. One such example is Portuguese newspaper A Bola who feature it on the homepage of their website, describing it as 'the most unfortunate goal of the year.'
