The dynamic German attacker has given credit where it's due for his rise to prominence at Arsenal.

The conveyor belt of precocious footballing talent continues to produce at Arsenal's training ground and the latest gifted youth to be moulded in the Gunners way, an exciting attack-minded 18-year-old German; Serge Gnabry, has spoken out on why he has developed into a player on the fringes of the senior selection despite his raw age.

That reason, Gnabry explained to kicker-Sportmagazin recently, is a man he calls Mr Wenger: 'I am very happy. I know the manager is fully on the side of young players and that I will be handed a proper chance at this club. And that's exactly how things went for me. In everyday life Mr [Arsene] Wenger is very much down-to-earth.'

Born in Stuttgart, Gnabry's soccer education was predominantly taught out of his local team, the big club in the city, VfB Stuttgart, who, in 2010, ratified a £100,000 deal with Arsenal over the transfer of the teenager. Gnabry could only link up with his new employers when he turned 16 and continued to develop in the North Londoners' Under-18 side.

He began to be integrated into Arsene Wenger's senior squad the summer of his 17th birthday, starting pre-season friendlies last year.

To date, he has made nine appearances in all competitions, returning one Premier League goal, however, that does not tell the full tale of his successful nurturing as the diminutive winger-come-forward has been likened to team-mate and fellow young gun; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, due to his physical attributes and playing style.

On Wenger, Gnabry concluded: 'He is very often talking to me and he is pointing me into the right direction. It's a fact that [he says] it's only me to decide my future progress. It will be all about my future performance and my future conduct.'

Gnabry has received all the tutoring available. It now appears up to him to continue to prove his mentor correct in putting so much faith in him at such a young age…
