Spurs face competition for Italian legend, Lloris may be rested for Europa League game

A round up of the key news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Tottenham are likely to rest goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for the Europa League game against FC Sheriff.

Lloris suffered a bad knock to the head in last weekend’s game at Everton and could be held back for the weekend.

The French goalkeeper was given the all-clear from any serious problem following a CT scan.

Tottenham will face competition from Turkish club Besiktas if they decide to move for Juventus’ Andrea Pirlo.

Pirlo has been linked with a move away from the Serie A champions, creating several rumours over his potential destination.

Turkish source Fotomac has suggested Besiktas will offer Pirlo a contract of just under £2 million to try and make the deal happen.

Another player Spurs are reportedly keen on is Manchester United summer target Fabio Coentrao.

Spurs are hunting a left-back as Andre Villas-Boas is forced to currently use players out of position in that role.

There were links between Spurs and the player last summer before United failed to a deal for the Portuguese on the final day of the transfer window.
