Juventus-Real Madrid Player Ratings: Casillas Saves The Day

Iker Casillas

Juventus and Real Madrid shared an exciting 2-2 draw in Turin, but who were the heroes and villains of the evening?

There were a number of star performances in last night's Champions League clash between Juventus and Real Madrid, but visiting 'keeper Iker Casillas was the hero of the piece while Raphael Varane had an evening to forget.

GIGI BUFFON 6/10 - A respectable evening for Gigi. He made a couple of smart saves but had no chance with Cristiano Ronaldo's goal and very little he could've done for Gareth Bale's.

MARTIN CACERES 5.5/10 - Not a great night for Caceres. Slightly jittery on occasion and partly at fault for both Real goals. However, he did provide the cross for Fernando Llorente's equaliser.

ANDREA BARZAGLI 6/10 - Solid on the whole but misjudged the situation when he chased Karim Benzema, allowing Ronaldo the space to score.

LEONARDO BONUCCI 6.5/10 - A decent performance to deal with the threats of Bale and Ronaldo without looking unduly fazed.

KWADWO ASAMOAH 5/10 - Improved as the game went on but was no match for Bale.

ARTURO VIDAL 8/10 - Juve's best player and once again the man who makes things happen for the Bianconeri. Took a perfect penalty.

ANDREA PIRLO 6.5/10 - Not his greatest effort, was shut down very quickly and struggled to impose himself.

PAUL POGBA 7.5/10 - Another excellent performance. Went close early on, won the penalty and deserved an assist for a perfect ball for Claudio Marchisio at 1-1.

CARLOS TEVEZ 6/10 - Still no goal in Europe despite his league form and that seemed to be on his mind, but nobody could question his work rate.

FERNANDO LLORENTE 7.5/10 - His second goal in two games against Real Madrid made him the saviour but he was otherwise pretty quiet.

CLAUDIO MARCHISIO 6/10 - Missed three decent chances to score, was denied partly by Casillas' brilliance but will feel he should've been on the scoresheet.

IKER CASILLAS 8.5/10 (MAN OF THE MATCH) - Made three fantastic saves and a couple of other crucial decisions, denied Marchisio twice and prevented a Pepe own goal. A return to the kind of form he is capable of.

SERGIO RAMOS 5/10 - He didn't get forward at all and looked ill at ease dealing with Carlos Tevez.

PEPE 5.5/10 - Played well with the exception of nearly scoring a terrible own goal when he deflected Paul Pogba's cross towards his own goal.

RAPHAEL VARANE 4/10 - Brought down Pogba for the penalty and lost Llorente for the equaliser. A bit of a shocker.

MARCELO 6/10 - Good going forward but looked shaky in defence. Marchisio got the better of him.

SAMI KHEDIRA 5/10 - Bullied out of the game by the Juve midfield and was very quiet.

XABI ALONSO 6/10 - Rattled the bar but was otherwise a little off the pace possibly still recovering from injury.

LUKA MODRIC 6.5/10 - Decent and had to do a lot of the dirty work in the Real midfield.

GARETH BALE 7/10 - Got a goal and looked dangerous as ever running into space. Still a lot more to come from him.

KARIM BENZEMA 6.5/10 - Good assist for Ronaldo but was outmuscled by the Juve back-line.

CRISTIANO RONALDO 8/10 - Despite being booed, jeered and heckled at every turn, Ronaldo was his usual self and got a goal and an assist.
