Jetro Willems at just 19-years-old is playing like one of the best full-backs in the world.
Record breaking defender Jetro Willems has recently been causing a stir in Eredivisie, where he is now renowned as one of the best full-backs in the world.
The 19-year-old looks set for an exciting year of football ahead, already an integral part of the Dutch national side that goes into the World Cup as one of the favourites; he is also looking to add to his trophy collection by winning his first Eredivisie title.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea along with Roma and Inter have been linked with the Dutch international and his recent form will no doubt reignite their interest as they look to fight it out to nail down one of the most promising players in Europe.
What to expect from Jetro Willems
The player epitomises the modern day full back, physically strong in the challenge and hard to dispossess, he is an impressively built defender. The PSV defender also possesses an incredible amount of pace, which underlines his impressive dribbling ability.
Good both on and off the ball, he has shown himself to be one of the more accurate passing defenders in the division, not to mention his ability to pick a pass and create a chance.
The 19-year-old has in fact produced more ‘key passes’ this season than Everton left back Leighton Baines, who is widely regarded as the most creative full-back currently in the game. Obviously shows he is a very capable footballer, as well solid defensive unit.
Obviously, the player is of a very high standard to already be integrated into the Dutch national side as they look to go into the World Cup as 6th favourite to win the trophy.
To pick faults with his game is quite difficult, obviously still learning the game he can be prone to indecisiveness, but he would no-doubt benefit from much more experienced defenders around him.
A real talent that promises to go a long way in the game!
