Pjanic: We deserved two penalties

Roma's record-breaking winning run came to an end as they could only draw 1-1 with Torino and midfielder Miralem Pjanic blames the referee.

Roma star and alleged Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic hit out at referee Luca Banti after his side could only draw with Torino last night.

Roma's 10-game winning streak was halted by a gutsy Torino side as Alessio Cerci scored only the second goal against the Giallorossi this season in a 1-1 draw.

It was a frustrating end to a magical run for Roma as they had chances to come away with all three points and Pjanic feels they were hard done by.

Late in the game, Pjanic moved further forward and went down in the box under a challenge from Matteo Darmian, but the referee waved penalty appeals away.

"I felt contact from Darmian," Pjanic insisted after the game. "He touched me and I tried to stay on my feet but didn't manage to."

Pjanic also felt that Roma should have been awarded a spot kick for a push by Riccardo Meggiorini on Mehdi Benatia.

"I've seen a load of those kind of incidents given as penalties but this time the referee didn't give us either one of the two," Pjanic concluded.

Roma remain top of Serie A but their lead has been cut to three points from Napoli and Juventus.
