Gareth Bale impressed so much on the right wing for Madrid that it left an opposing defender in tears!
Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 3-2 on Saturday night. In what might seem like a close encounter Real Madrid stormed into a 3-0 lead before a fight back from the home side.
World record signing Gareth Bale particularly impressed for Madrid playing in an advanced right-wing role. Gareth Bale set up two goals for his side, scored by Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. The Rayo Vallecano left-back in charge of marking Bale on the night was Anaitz Arbilla.
Bale was lethal down the right wing and was running circles around Arbilla. With his side 3-0 down Real Vallecano manager Francisco Jemez, aka 'Paco' made the decision to take the defender off after having such a torrid time. Bale's performance led to the early substitution in the 51st minute and it was clearly too much for Arbilla to take. He duly burst into tears on the substitutes bench, trying to bury himself in his coat. He was comforted by fellow players on the bench, but I think it's a first for Gareth Bale. Reducing the a player to tears following such a great attacking performance.
Watch the video below to seen when Anaitz Arbilla was left distraught.
Gareth Bale seems to have found his stride after a slow start interrupted by injuries. This video will send out a stark warning to other La Liga defences.
