Arsene Wenger has paid perhaps the ultimate compliment to Mesut Ozil.
Zinedine Zidane was surely the best footballer of his generation. Scorer of winning goals in World Cup and Champions League finals, he possessed a mesmeric touch every time he graced the field.
Even to be mentioned in the same breath as the Frenchman is a compliment of the highest order, and despite the many players dubbed the 'next Zidane', nobody has come close to equally his playmaking ability.
One player who is said to be close however is German superstar Mesut Ozil, and the man who has made the claim is his very own manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger is one of the most experienced men in football and would not make such a claim lightly.
He did so in an interview with French television station Telefoot:
"He’s more of a dribbler than Zidane. But they have similar technical ease of expression and same natural humility."
Ozil has fitted into Arsenal's team with consummate ease, playing an integral role on the pitch in propelling the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table, and lifting the spirit of everybody around the club off it purely with his presence.
Ozil was likened by many to Dennis Bergkamp for potential impact he could have on Arsenal when he first arrived, and this latest comparison to the great Zinedine Zidane - who he worked alongside at Real Madrid - is just another amazing compliment for him to add to his scrapbook.
If Ozil can lead his country to World Cup success next summer, he may just ensure his name lives on for generations too.
Do you agree with Wenger about the similarities between the players?
