The first top-flight Welsh derby is set up nicely for Michael Laudrup’s side to give Swansea fans the bragging rights this afternoon (4pm).
This one won’t be for the faint-hearted. The first ever meeting of South Wales’ bitter rivals in the Premier League and I think the travelling fans will be going back to Swansea very happy tonight.
The last two meetings between the sides back in the 2010/11 season saw the away side win 1-0 and there’s a great chance of that happening once again today.
Malky Mackay’s Cardiff side have found goals hard to come by at home, scoring just four in their opening four games and three of those came in the shock win over Manchester City. Laudrup’s visitors have also found goals tough to score on the road, scoring four in their four trips away from the Liberty Stadium.
With that in mind, it could just be the one goal needed again to get the win and for that reason I’ll be taking the 7/5 on offer with Coral for a Swansea victory, and also having a little flutter on a 1-0 score line which is a best price of 8/1 with Bet365 and Bet Victor.
As for who’s going to get the goal to be the Swansea hero, I’m going to look for some value and take the 16/1 on offer for Nathan Dyer with a number of firms. If you wanted to look at the scorecast then you would get around 50/1.
What do you think will occur Cardiff and Swansea fans? Who’ll come out on top? Give us your thoughts.
