Aaron Ramsey is halfway there after scoring against Liverpool, can he double it before the end of the season?
Arsenal are five points clear of the chasing pack in the Premier League after beating Liverpool 2-0 at The Emirates Stadium this afternoon - with goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey securing the excellent home victory.
It was a result their performance duly deserved - with many players standing out.
Aaron Ramsey scored once again, taking his tally for the season to 10 for the first time in a season with an incredible half volley from the edge of the box. Since the start of the new campaign Ramsey has now doubled his overall tally for The Gunners to a grand total of 20 goals.
But could he make 20 goals this season?
He is certainly on course - with the likelihood that he will play another 30 or 40 games this season he will certainly feel capable of adding another ten to his tally.
To score 20 goals in a season would out him in line with the sort of tallies that Premier League stalwarts such as Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have been consistently doing for years.
And the 20 goal question was one put to him by Jamie Redknapp after the game on Sky Sports.
‘’You talk about Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard; do you even think about getting to 20 the way it’s been going for you so far?’’
To which Ramsey, in his confident Welsh tones, replied:
‘’Yeah. I’m feeling very confident so every opportunity I am getting I am feeling good to have a crack on goal and they’re going in at the moment. So you know I’ve looked up to players like that [Gerrard and Lampard] over the last ten years or so and the amount of goals that they get is quite remarkable so that’s what I’m aiming to do’’
And with plenty of time to get there, it is more than possible that Ramsey can make it to 20 this season.
What do you think? Can Ramsey make it to 20 goals?
