Norwich may be the last team to win in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, but that won’t be the case this afternoon (3pm).
Chris Hughton’s Norwich City side have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, so a trip to the highest scorers in the Premier League isn’t really what he would have wanted this weekend.
After suffering a 4-0 cup defeat in the red half of Manchester in midweek, they now meet a City side that have scored 21 goals in their opening nine league games and a striker in Sergio Aguero who’s in red hot form.
The Argentine has scored six goals in his last four league appearances and has three in his last four against the Canaries. He is a best price of 100/30 with Coral to open the scoring but I think the 7/2 the same firm is offering for him to score two or more is a better bet.
There are enough high quality players on display that can score the first goal but there’s every chance of Aguero netting twice in the 90 minutes and that for me is the way to go.
This is usually a game full of goals. The last four meetings have seen the net bulge 25 times at an average of 6.25 goals a game and despite Norwich winning 3-2 on their last visit at the end of last season, it’s more than likely that the Citizens will pick up three points today.
With Joe Hart controversially dropped and Vincent Kompany missing through injury, there is a strong chance of Hughton’s side scoring though so my other bet is for both teams to score and City to win and Boylesports offer an appealing 9/5 on that to happen.
