Liverpool had their moments today against Arsenal, but in the end the end result was fair on The Gunners as they ran away comfortable 2-0 winners against The Merseysider’s at The Emirates after goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey did the job.
Today proved the fact that Daniel Sturridge can have off days, Jordan Henderson, for all his physical attributes, lacks the creativity to play against the big boys, Philippe Coutinho is far from 100% fit and that Luis Suarez is only as good as the service he gets.
Liverpool didn’t play badly, not at all, and they would have considered themselves unlucky to go 1-0 down when they did.
But the fact is, they did not deserve anything but defeat in North London - as that final creative spark was either not there or quickly shut down by the imperious Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Mikel Arteta.
They could have done with a little extra creative spark from the midfield - somebody in top form.
Someone like Suso?
He is in great form for UD Almeria on loan at the moment - and today he grabbed yet another assist for the club.
His bending cross was met by the head of former Sheffield Wednesday striker Rodri - who duly put the ball in the back of the net.
It was Suso’s fifth assist of the LaLiga season in 11 games.
Liverpool fans should be getting excited about the Suso who will return to Anfield next summer.
Here is the assist …
