Liverpool have already climbed one place today without doing anything, after Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the lunch-time kick-off. And a win at the Emirates will see them leapfrog the Gunners at the top of the table.
However, Arsenal will have other ideas, and Arsene Wenger will know he has to record a big victory sooner rather than later, especially with matches against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United on the horizon.
This is arguably the season’s first six-pointer, and Arsenal will know a victory will take them five points clear at the top of the table – giving them some breathing room before next weekend’s visit to Old Trafford.
The hosts are without Mathieu Flamini and Serge Gnabry while the visitors do not have Jose Enrique at their disposal.
With four of the last six meetings in North London ending in draws, and with one win apiece, it is clear there is not much to choose between the sides.
What do you think today’s result will be?
