Arsenal banished any bad memories from defeats in other competitions by maintaining their exquisite form in the Premier League as, at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 2, Arsene Wenger's side put in a winning performance at Liverpool's expense.
There were numerous strong performances, particularly from Bacary Sagna who was a figure of strength and power at the back, Mikel Arteta who comfortably fulfilled his own traditional role as well as covering the absence of Mathieu Flamini (Arteta hit a 94% pass accuracy from 106 attemps and completed seven tackles) and Santi Cazorla, who hit the most shots out of all the men on the pitch (4) while also creating and finishing Arsenal's opener.
Arsene Wenger set his team up to control possession and, through the course of 90 minutes, they owned 54% of it. Their passing was on point and it took them just 70 minutes to complete more passes than any other team who have faced Liverpool this campaign; 408.
Following the match, many Gunners took to social media to express their elation at the result, the football they produced and their lead at the top of the table.
That was Football in formula 1 speed. It's wonderful to be a gunner. Thanks all.— Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) November 2, 2013
