Highly rated Desportivo striker Bruno Gomes is still high on Manchester United’s radar and have first refusal on the talented youngster up until he turns 18.
His prolific goalscoring record at youth level in Brazil has been well documented, as has the various clubs interested in signing the Brazilian under-17 international.
Huge clubs in Italy like AC Milan and Juventus have been eyeing the player up for some time and it was understood that Manchester United’s first refusal on the player ended when the player reached 17.
However, the deal is supposed to run until the strikers 18th birthday and after that any club can come in for the player and negotiate a deal.
It is highly likely that the natural goalscorer will move on in the next year and Manchester United are still firm favourites to sign the young player.
Controversial former Derby County player Robbie Savage has questioned the substance of Manchester United’s top 4 push this season.
Known for his straight talking personality, he said:
‘’I like David Moyes and I believe he should be given time to build his own dynasty at United – Sir Alex Ferguson was always going to be an impossible act to follow.
‘’However, recent premier League results at Old Trafford don’t paint a false picture.
‘’Visiting opponents are not scared of United anymore.’’
He also went on to praise the front pairing at United, but questioned their service, inciting that United don’t move the ball quick enough and have lost their cutting edge.
David Beckham’s son Brooklyn has been seen at the world-class Carrington training ground accompanied by his father.
Brooklyn seems to be making his own mark as a footballer having trials at Chelsea in January and training regularly with the Queens Park Rangers’ academy, alongside Dennis Wise’s son Henry. However, he can also boast about training alongside some of the world’s top footballers and has been seen training with Beckham’s former PSG team-mates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva amongst others.
The session isn’t likely to result in anything more permanent just yet, but it gives Manchester United a likely first refusal on one of their modern great’s offspring.
Doncaster Rovers manager is keen to extend the loan of striker Federico Macheda despite his initial time at the club being cut short due to an injury.
The former Manchester City player said:
‘’Kiko is getting closer to being fit and again and although I have not spoken to United for a few weeks, I will be on the phone soon to see if we can get him back here as he was a big plus to the side with his eye for goal.’’
The fans will have undoubtedly fond memories of the Italian striker who burst onto the scene as a teenager grabbing the headlines over the likes of Ronaldo, Berbatov and Rooney. After making such an impression early into his career at Old Trafford, the tall frontman has struggled to replicate his form and is now playing second tier football. However, the player is still young and has it all to prove, he could still become a success story for United.
