Watford host Leicester City at Vicarage Road in one of the weekend’s most anticipated matches.
The Hertfordshire based club are one of the most impressive attacking sides in the division and have currently notched up 25 goals in 13 games, making them joint top scorers in the division with Derby County.
Leicester will travel to Watford expecting to be under some heavy spells of pressure and for that reason I am backing former Nottingham Forest centre back Wes Morgan to be the key man in this game.
The experienced defender will have to be on top of his game to null a Watford side that can’t seem to stop scoring if he hopes his side can get anything from the game.
Nottingham Forest are at home to the Blackpool side that have surprised everyone with their start to the season.
Blackpool find themselves 4th in the division having lost just once this season, despite manager Paul Ince having to watch from the stand the tangerine men will go into this game with high expectations.
A game which will be won in midfield, I am backing Chelsea’s on loan star Nathaniel Chalobah tocome up with goods on Saturday against his England under-21 team mate Tom Ince.
The heavily criticised Chelsea man has started in poor form for the East Midlands side and at 18 you should expect some ‘bedding in’ issues. On Saturday I expect his ‘know-how’ up against Tom Ince will pay-off when these two sides meet.
Yeovil travel to a Leeds United side that have scored 6 goals in their last 2 games and have the burden of knowledge that a Yeovil side has never beat a Leeds United side.
Yeovil will be in high spirits after their emphatic 3-1 win over promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest and will be looking to put a dent in Leeds United’s promotion dreams on Saturday too.
Despite the loss, Nottingham Forest had quite a few chances in front of goal and that is why I am backing former Oldham Athletic giant Matt Smith to be amongst the goals.
The striker has finally found his feet in this division scoring 3 goals in his last 2 games after a pretty slow start. I imagine he will be hungry for goals and will be relishing coming up against a Yeovil side that look likely to be fighting for their lives.
The Rams travel to QPR in the knowledge that a Derby side haven’t lost at Loftus Road in over 20 years and despite being underdogs their away form will give them a glimmer of hope.
QPR, however, unknowingly bought a boggy player for Derby County and I expect the Charlie Austin to keep his record up and be in the goals against a side that he seems to love playing against.
The Hungerford born striker has managed to score 5 goals in his 4 games playing the East Midlands side and the fear-factor amongst Rams fans has already begun.
Wigan host Huddersfield at the DW Stadium on Saturday and FA Cup holders will be desperate to get some points on the board and in amongst the play-off contenders.
Huddersfield have started the season strongly and sit 1 point and 4 places better off than Wigan who sit on 16 points and 13th position. The two sides are particularly strong in midfield and I don’t expect anything other than a full-blooded midfield battle which will result in the team getting on top eventually be the winner.
I am backing Manchester United Loan star Nick Powell to show his class in the game and bring the points home for Wigan, who despite their form in Europe have looked unstable in the Championship.
