A round up of key news stories about Liverpool this morning.
New Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has been discussing the selection dilemma presented by Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
Poyet claims the Italian striker has been smirking at him and has created a big problem for the boss following his goal against Newcastle United last weekend.
“Fabio has been looking at me out of the side of his face and laughing. I’ve been saying to him, ‘yeah, yeah, you’ve made trouble for me now’ – because obviously he has now made a good case for himself with his goal,” said Poyet.
The agent of Italian star Jorginho says his client could move away from Hellas Verona.
Liverpool are one of the sides linked with the player and his agents’ comments contradict Jorginho’s recent statement suggesting he wants to stay at Hellas Verona for another season.
“I read of many links, but to be honest so far nobody has come forward with a concrete proposal to Verona. He could leave in the summer if he continues to confirm himself at this level,” said Joao Santos.
Liverpool have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their match against Arsenal.
Brendan Rodgers has revealed that playmaker Philippe Coutinho is back, fit and ready to start the game.
Coutinho has been missing since he picked up a shoulder injury in a game at Swansea City earlier this season.
