Philippe Coutinho is in line to make his long anticipated return from injury. Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder could start the match against Arsenal tomorrow following a shoulder problem he picked up earlier this season at Swansea City.
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner says the club are heading in the right direction. Liverpool’s aim by the end of the season is to have secured Champions League football qualification.
“We know how much it means to our fans to get to the top of the Premier League and get back in the Champions League. I just want to keep going in the right direction,” Werner told the BBC.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says his side have developed a winning mentality. The team have made a fantastic start to the Premier League and Rodgers says the winning mentality will help them maintain their momentum heading into a busy winter schedule.
Rodgers has also reiterated his stance that a Luis Suarez to Arsenal deal over the summer was never going to happen. Arsenal made two bids for the forward during the summer, with the second valued at £40 million.
“I understand why Arsenal would want to buy a player of Luis' quality because he is one of the leading strikers in the world but it was something that was never going to happen,” said Rodgers.
Glen Johnson says that mentality and a healthy team spirit at the club will breed success over the course of the campaign.
“We've always had a good mood in the dressing room. There's a good bunch of lads, everyone's willing to work hard and I think that's showing in the games. Everyone's willing to fight for each other,” he told the Liverpool website.

In transfer news, Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Amartey over a possible move this winter. The player confirmed earlier this week to Nyheter24 that he’d already been in contact with the Reds.
“I have been in contact with the club (Liverpool). It’s a good club that I could play in. I’ve always dreamt of playing in the same league as my hero Michael Essien,” said Amartey.
Hannover have confirmed Ron-Robert Zieler may be sold at the end of the season. Liverpool have been linked with the goalkeeper, as Rodgers appeared to be keen to provide greater competition to Simon Mignolet for the number one spot at Anfield.
Current Liverpool pair Daniel Agger and Fabio Borini will not be going anywhere according to Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers has reassured Agger that he will get a chance back in the first team while maintain that Borini had to go on loan to Sunderland to get games under his belt.
