Ajax progressed comfortably to the fourth round of the Dutch Cup thanks to a 4-1 against ASWH, with Fulham reject Danny Hoesen grabbing one of the goals.
Danny Hoesen never made a Premier League appearance for Fulham, as his time in West London was marked by an inability to break into the first team.
He joined the club in 2009 from Fortuna Sittard and his Craven Cottage career was spent mostly on loan with two loan spells at HJK in 2010 and Fortuna Sittard between 2011 and 2012.
He moved onto Ajax and seems to have found his feet at the Dutch club, with the goal just his second of the season, going with a strike against FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie.
“The Netherlands is an ideal country for him to develop. Less physical fights, less surviving. Danny really is a decent player. I hope he keeps getting chances at Ajax,” said Fulham boss Martin Jol last December.
Well he is getting chances and has already managed to produce a decent strike rate of five goals in 18 league games as well as maintaining an impact in cup competitions.
Take a look at his goal, Ajax’s second, from the match last night.
