A round up of the key news stories about Chelsea this morning.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says the ball is firmly in the club’s court with regards to his future.

The young Belgian is currently enduring his third season long loan spell at Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

“This year I was pleased to stay at Atletico Madrid but next season it all depends on Chelsea. We have to wait until next summer,” he told AS.

Jose Mourinho told his back up players to give him a headache before last night’s League Cup win at Arsenal.

Chelsea secured a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium and looked like the better team for large parts of the game.

“The preferred team at the moment won’t be the team that is preferred in January. It will be different again in the later stages of the season. It will change, so we need everybody,” said assistant boss Steve Holland after the game.

German club Wolfsburg would welcome the opportunity to sign Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

The club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs says he wouldn’t be able to turn his back on the possibility of bringing De Bruyne back to the Bundesliga.

“We want to complete transfers which make sense – At Werder I saw how well De Bruyne played – If players like that were possible, well of course you would think of them,” he told Bild.
