When Bebe signed on loan at Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira, manager Costinha was key in convincing him to join the Primeira Liga outfit.
A former Champions League winner with Porto under Jose Mourinho, he described the Manchester United man as a 'quality player' upon his arrival.
Things have however not been going according to plan for the manager of the club which finished third in Portugal last season - they sit 16th, bottom of the league.
Costinha, who has been insistent on playing Bebe at every opportunity, has now been sacked after a 3-1 Monday night loss at home to Vitor de Guimaires.
The Portuguese side are also struggling in the Europa League, and look set to be dumped out at the first opportunity.
Bebe's constant presence in the side, and their situation at the bottom of the league are not however automatically tied in with one another.
The United forward has though just one goal in eight games, clearly not enough for a player who has been deployed as a central striker.
He also has two assists, but the occasion he was played out wide in the Europa League, he completed just two of eight crosses.
Now his manager has been dismissed, Bebe's future could be affected with it. A new boss may well not show the same faith in him Costinha did; certainly looking simply at a one goal in eight goal ratio they will not be desperate to do so.
It could be that Bebe's best chance of success and regular football has just disappeared, likewise he will hope a new coach could get even more out of him.
With his side rooted bottom with four points from eight games, it's safe to say they did not have much choice but to shake things up, the United man will just hope he still has a place now they have.
